Based on outstanding student progress, Teacher Tutors is proud to announce that Bardia and Sophie were selected as Students Of The Month!
Jas S. had the pleasure and good fortune of tutoring two very highly motivated students in math, history, and writing. When he first met Bardia in November, Bardia had begun his first year of high school and wanted to be sure that he excelled in his ninth grade honors geometry course. After a few sessions, Jas noticed that Bardia was consistently getting scores in the high 90s on his geometry exams, so Jas asked Bardia if he might want help with any other subject. When Bardia responded in the affirmative, requesting additional help with writing history essays, Jas gladly agreed. Over the course of a few sessions, Jas taught Bardia the critical elements of a solid essay. Bardia’s grades on his history essays have improved from B average to A. I’m very confident that with a little further practice, Bardia will earn A+ grades.
Similar to her older brother, Sophie showed that she was an over-achiever from our first session together. She showed mastery of the sixth grade math curriculum that she had covered in class. To help her maintain grades in the high 90s on all her math exams, Jas had given her exercises far more challenging than the ones she had completed in class. Not only has Sophie relished the opportunity to complete challenging exercises, but she has excelled at them. To date, her grades on her math tests have all been in the high 90s.
