Dawn, an expert tutor, is a full-time Kindergarten teacher at St. Rose of Lima Academy. Dawn is a graduate of Montclair State University, Drew University and St. Thomas Aquinas College. Collaboration, being a team player, helping those in need and going the extra mile is what is important in every aspect of living. Dawn is a member of two book clubs and enjoys reading and discussions. In the summers, Dawn loves to spend time in the Adirondacks hiking, boating, kayaking and swimming and enjoying time with family and friends.

Dinah, a master tutor, has lived in California, Colorado, Nebraska, New York and now resides in New Jersey. She went to school in California and attended the University of California, San Diego, to earn her BA degree in Spanish/English Literature. At the University of California, Davis, she also earned her Life Elementary Education Teaching Certificate for K-9. At the University of Northern Colorado, she received her Masters of Arts Degree in Bilingual/Bicultural Education. Dinah has worked in elementary education, bilingual education and English as a Second Language, working with children and adults throughout her career. With a variety of experience, she brings to her teaching a diversity of skills and creativity. Dinah is a professional who has much energy for her students to reach their goals.

Ellen, a master tutor, is a creative, passionate, and encouraging elementary and middle school math teacher. She holds a B.S. Degree from Boston University’s School of Education and has a NJ Certificate as a K-8 teacher. She has over 25 years of experience as a classroom teacher and as a Math Coordinator both in public and private schools. Ellen has been extensively trained in the Singapore Math instructional approach. She has successfully instituted the Singapore Math program in 2 different schools which included training the teachers in the Singapore methods. To eliminate math anxiety, Ellen often presents ideas, techniques and various strategies, geared to the individual student, that can contribute to meaningful learning that goes beyond memorizing rules, facts, and math procedures. She instills a “can do” attitude in her students which allows them to experience success along with the joy of learning. She is currently teaching and coordinating math in a private school in Bergen County. In her spare time, Ellen loves to read, draw, do arts and crafts, and spend time with her family and friends.

Emily, an expert tutor, is a recent graduate from The University of North Carolina Wilmington, with a degree in Elementary Education and concentration in Mathematics and Technology. Throughout her years at UNCW, she volunteered in a variety of classrooms from grades K-8. These experiences helped Emily realize her passion for helping students realize their full potential inside the classroom and out. Emily is currently working in sixth-grade classrooms of all subjects as an instructional aide. In her spare time, Emily loves spending time with her dog, going to the beach and snowboarding.

Erin, a master tutor, attended Cornell University and majored in Mathematics. Immediately after graduation, she moved to Washington, DC, to work towards her Masters in the Art of Teaching at American University with a focus on Secondary Math Education. Since then she has been teaching middle and high school math. Erin recently moved to New Jersey, where she is now teaching high school Mathematics. She loves mathematics and loves to share that passion with her students!

Erin, an expert tutor, graduated from Felician College as the valedictorian with degrees in Education and English. She has 15 years of middle school English classroom teaching experience as well as 7 years of tutoring all grade levels and a variety of subjects. Erin also has experience as a homeschool teacher, as she has homeschooled her high school-aged children using the Time4Learning curriculum. Erin is also a published writer with stories in three editions of Chicken Soup for the Soul.

Genevieve, a master tutor, has encouraged the literacy of students as young as age three by maintaining a nurturing environment for their continued enrichment. She's spent the last 7 years helping students in grades k-12 with assignments ranging in English, literature, math, Spanish, French, social studies, & sciences. She has educated and guided her students in order to establish a resolute foundation to master mathematics, reading and comprehension, and language arts. She has also mentored learners through personal obstacles to prosper in learning independently, thinking critically and logically through analysis. She is passionate about making a difference in the community, the importance of education, motivating others, instilling perseverance and enjoyment in learning.

Haian, an expert tutor, is a college student pursuing an Industrial Design degree and a minor in Applied Mathematics . He has years of experience working with kids as a counselor and tutoring in math from kindergarten to college level. With a relaxed and patient attitude that helps kids warm up immediately, he is proficient at taking the easy steps necessary to work up to more difficult problems. He also continues to challenge them to build confidence in their abilities! He believes that students will enjoy their work when they truly understand and feel comfortable with it.

Jacqueline, a master tutor, currently teaches in the Newark Public School system. She specializes in tutoring mathematics. Jacqueline has three years of classroom teaching experience. She believes in a personalized approach to teaching that allows her students to feel excited about math and confident in their abilities. Jacqueline feels that math could be anyone's favorite subject, but that it takes being taught in a way that fits each student's specific personality. Jaime, an expert tutor, received her Master's Degree in Education with honors from Saint Peter's University. She has spent more than 10 years working in the field of education. After 8 years as a family liaison for a pre-k program, she pursued her teaching career. Jaime holds a standard teaching certification from the New Jersey Department of Education, licensing her to teach k-6th grade students. She has completed teaching assignments in Jersey City and Byram, NJ working with students at various elementary levels. She absolutely loves teaching and designing creative lesson plans meeting a variety of preferred learning styles. In her free time, Jaime enjoys writing, journaling, and spending time on Lake Mohawk.

Jessica, an expert tutor, received her BA in Early Childhood Education Degree from Kean University. She is certified as Teacher of Preschool, grades Prek-3, and as an Elementary School Teacher, grades K-6. Jessica has been teaching for 4 years and is currently teaching 4th-grade math and science. She is currently in graduate school for her Special Education Certificate. Jessica enjoys traveling and making memories with her son.

Joanna, a master tutor, has a Master's Degree in Curriculum Instruction. She is creative, patient, and has a love for teaching. Joanna has experience working in general ed and inclusion classrooms. She is currently a teacher assistant in Roseland, NJ. Joanna understands the importance of differentiating lessons based on students needs and learning styles. She provides individualized support and breaks down concepts that are easier to understand for a child who is struggling during a lesson. Joanna enjoys spending time with her two boys ages 8 and 10 working on STEM Projects.

Josh, a master tutor, received his B.A. from the University of Maryland and a M.A. from the Jewish Theological Seminary. He then began teaching middle school math in NYC. After seven years in an urban setting, he began teaching at a suburban private school in 2012. He loves to present math topics in different ways to meet different students' needs; nothing pleases him more than after several attempts, a new approach is met with, "Oh! Why didn't you teach it like that in the first place?"
When not teaching, Josh can be found reading, cheering on his Baltimore sports teams, engrossed in trivia, or more likely, playing with his two-year-old daughter.

Joshua, a master tutor, earned his A.B. from Rutgers University in 2003, Joshua went on to work towards a M.A. In 2011, earning it Kean University. Being the consummate student, he did not stop there. Currently, Joshua is back at Kean University and is a candidate for his Ed.D., with an anticipated graduation date of May 2018. Passionate about finding unique technological methods to teaching, his doctoral dissertation focuses on effective uses of technology in the elementary classroom; an extension to his master's thesis. Joshua has a passion for teaching and the world of academics. Having taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, Joshua possesses a wide range of knowledge in elementary language arts, math and science. Each day, he approaches teaching as a new adventure and works to create the most interesting, and interactive, instructional methods that he can deliver. His one-of-a-kind teaching approach has brought him many accolades. For the school year of 2013 and 2014, Joshua earned a "Perfect Award" from his district as a teacher of excellence. Along with that, he has coached several students to perfect scores on the mathematics section of the NJASK. Julie, a master tutor, is an accomplished elementary classroom teacher and currently teaches middle school math to students in 6th and 8th grades. She also worked as a math specialist providing in-class and small group instruction and is experienced teaching Singapore Math. Julie received her B.S. from Cornell University and her MBA from New York University. She became a fully certified NJ state K-8 in 2005 and has worked in both public and private school settings. She has spent many years tutoring students privately, especially in math. She helps students work on organization and time management skills as well. Julie also has experience working with general education and special education in both formal and informal settings. She works to help students realize their potential, by identifying strengths and incorporating that into her instruction to help make all students successful.

Kaitlyn, an expert tutor, is a graduate student at Fairleigh Dickinson University, working towards her Masters in Education and Special Education certification. She received her BA in Psychology, where she was able to focus on child and adolescent development, and theories of learning. Kaitlyn is originally from NY where she was a PASE summer teaching fellow as well as an Assistant ELA instructor for the Boys Club of NY. Her passion is teaching kids how to be confident, engaged learners.

When she is not focused on education, Kaitlyn enjoys cooking, swimming and staying involved on campus. She has two rescue dogs! She also speaks Spanish and would love to learn a third language.

Karyn, a master tutor, holds a B.A. in psychology from William Paterson University where she also received her elementary education certificate. Karyn has also completed credits towards a M.A. in special education from University of Phoenix. She is an enthusiastic teacher/tutor with several years experience working with elementary level students. She has spent the past 8 years working as a teacher's aide in self contained special education classrooms. She has worked with a variety of ages from preschool all the way up to high school. Her most recent position was in a 4th/5th grade classroom. Karyn has also taught pre-k and kindergarten in day care settings. It is her belief that she can make learning fun and interesting to help a student achieve full potential.

Katelyn, a master tutor, has been working in early childhood education for over six years. Katelyn loves working with young children, and helping them succeed in every possible way! As a early childhood educator in Kenilworth, Katelyn has been able to work with a variety of grade levels, and has a strong background in reading and language arts instruction. On a daily basis, Katelyn has the opportunity to implement different learning strategies in her classroom (such as Smart Boards, interactive tables, writing workshop, Apple products, and everyday math) so the students can learn topics in various ways. Professionally, she has worked as a reading teacher in California, and written language arts and reading curriculum for the elementary and junior high school level. She always strives to be the best teacher she can be, and aims to help her students to achieve their best as well. In her leisure Katelyn enjoys, reading, yoga, and spending time with her husband and baby girl.

Katherine, a master tutor, is currently a first grade teacher, teaching all subject areas in Passaic, NJ. She has been an enthusiastic and caring teacher since graduating Montclair State University in 2013. She graduated as a family and child studies major with a concentration in k-6. Once she graduated, she took on a role as a paraprofessional aide in a preschool disabled classroom in Little Falls, NJ. She gained knowledge and experience using ABA in order to help young children with autism learn to their full potential. She then taught 4th grade English language arts in Passaic, NJ. She implemented various reading comprehension/writing skills and prepared students for PARCC testing. Her goal as a teacher is to provide all her students with academic growth based on each child's needs and to relate her lessons to the real world. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends.

Kathryn, an Expert Tutor, has a B.A. from William Paterson University and a M.A. from Caldwell University. She has experience working with children from kindergarten up through young adults. Most of her experience has been working with children and young adults with learning differences. Currently, Kathryn is pursuing a Master's degree in school counseling. Her experience includes working with lower elementary school students (K - 2nd grade) as an instructional aide. For two years, Katheryn worked with middle school age students as an Applied Behavioral Specialist in Morris School District. She enjoys working with kids, making learning fun and interesting. Kathryn loves playing sports and video games in her spare time.

Kellie, an expert tutor, graduated with high honors and earned her B.A. from Rider University. She has a second major in psychology and a concentration in special education. She enjoys teaching both language arts and math to her students at the elementary and middle school level. Her experience spans over teaching in a public, private and charter school setting. She enjoys working one-on-one with students and personalizing teaching approaches to best fit each students’ needs. Currently, Kellie is working with 3rd, 4th, 5th grade students. She provides one-on-one instruction to struggling students in these grade levels. Kellie was a competitive swimmer from the age of three and continues to enjoy swimming in her free time. She was an avid swimmer in high school and through her college years, and has enjoyed teaching swim lessons to children and adults for nine summers in both Philadelphia and New York. One of her favorite parts of teaching swim lessons was helping students, young and old, through the process of overcoming their fear of the water. This has taught her to be very patient and encouraging with her approach to teaching. She strongly believes that anyone can learn anything with the right approach to the material and dedication to mastering small goals on the way to achieving a larger goal. When she is not tutoring Kellie enjoys reading, listening to music, yoga, and spending time with her family and friends.

Kelly, a master tutor, received her BA in Communication Studies from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and her Masters of Education from The College of Saint Elizabeth. Kelly has been teaching 4th and 5th grade ELA and Math in the same school for 10 years. She enjoys tutoring to help her students reach their full potential and excel in all subjects.

Ken, a master tutor, has become a seasoned high school educator over the past 15 years. His students really like his unique and encouraging teaching style. Through his many years of enjoyable teaching experience, Ken can easily make a difficult lesson not so difficult. He believes strongly that every student has the potential to reach success if shown the right method to achieve it. Besides teaching, Ken loves to pursue fun times with his son; favored activities include hiking, reading, fishing - ANYTHING together!

Kirk, a master tutor, is a recently-retired college professor of environmental engineering and water resources engineering (subdisciplines of civil engineering). Kirk has received degrees in chemical engineering, computer science, and environmental engineering. He has taught courses for several years in hydraulics, hydrology, and water quality that involve chemistry, physics, and mathematics including algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and calculus. He has also taught the use of Microsoft Excel and computer programming in VBA in Excel. Kirk can show students how mathematics is used in the real world to solve important problems regarding engineering and the environment. He can also help students develop a strategy to best prepare for an exam.

Krina, a master tutor, is currently a second grade special education teacher in an ICT setting. She has taught every grade in K-5th grade. She specializes in differentiating the curriculum to suit the needs of individual students. She has ABA training and is well versed in the ABLLS program. She designs programs for her students that are tracked by data and then used to focus on the needs each individual student exhibits. Krina has her teaching certification in elementary education and special education in New Jersey as well as New York. She loves playing and watching soccer and being with family and friends. Krina enjoys playing monopoly and scrabble too!
