Science Tutoring

Sarin, an expert tutor, is a undergraduate at Rutgers Honors and Aureus Medical School. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rutgers University in 2009. He then proceeded to graduate medical school within the top 15% of his medical college graduating class in 2013. Sarin is passionate about teaching and would like to inspire, motivate, and teach students to become successful in their academic careers. Sarin tutors various subjects including advanced placement Biology, advanced placement chemistry, advanced placement physics, pre-algebra, algebra I/II, geometry, pre-calculus, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, SAT math (Scored 800), ACT, GRE, GMAT, and TOEFL. He possesses the integrity and sincerity in serving his community and he affirms that given this opportunity he will fulfill this objective by practicing medicine and giving back to the community by teaching.

Shaneze, a master tutor, has been tutoring for over 10 years for students ranging in ages 8-25. She's tutored in math, science, language arts and standardized tests. In undergrad, she tutored science/pre-med majors and as a result of her students excelling, she was offered a position to be a part-time biology professor at Rutgers. She loves bonding and connecting with her students. She is extremely flexible and will adapt to the learning style/needs of each student. She also creates her own lesson plans and tests that format real exams!

Siobhan S, a Master Tutor, is a middle school science teacher with a bachelors degree in special education. She holds teacher certificates for elementary k-5, and middle school science, grades 6-8. She is also a teacher of students with disabilities, all with highly qualified status. Siobhan has five years experience teaching middle school science where reading comprehension is incorporated in many lessons. She has been tutoring for two years in science and math. Siobhan enjoys traveling and exploring different parks with her dog.

Stephen, a master tutor, is a scientist/teacher with over 4 years of experience tutoring middle, high school and college students. He has a B.A. in life sciences from Rutgers University and a Ph.D. in immunology and microbial pathogenesis from Thomas Jefferson University. He teaches biology, physics and Earth science at the high school level, and has tutored in the sciences and math extensively. Stephen’s tutoring style is to make a connection with the student, creating a favorable environment for the student-tutor interaction. This allows for an easy exchange of concepts and a less stressful experience, while the actual tutoring materials will depend upon the student’s needs and learning style. He is very capable at explaining scientific theories and concepts in a manner making it easy to understand and remember. During his down time, Stephen enjoys reading, both playing and following sports, and enjoying pop culture.

Thi Bay, a master tutor, has been immersed in education and academia ranging from overseeing preschool education and teaching K-12 all the way to university lecturing and editing doctoral dissertations and academic journal articles.

Thi Bay began working in education as a K-12 educator for UC Berkeley’s Mathematics Engineering and Science Achievement (MESA) program and for the San Francisco’s Head Start Program. Later driven by a desire to provide disadvantaged students with support that extended beyond the classroom, Thi Bay worked for Instituto Familiar de La Raza, a community-based organization providing support to members of immigrant and underserved communities. In addition to facilitating school-based workshops and conducting individualized educational plans (IEPs) she also co-facilitated a theatre group.

Following relocation to New York Thi Bay interned for a Permanent Mission to the United Nations and worked briefly with the International Rescue Committee, leveraging her skills teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) as she also provided refugees with job readiness training.

After a stint in international banking, Thi Bay was awarded a Ford Foundation Fellowship to teach at a University in Vietnam. She taught Social Studies to undergraduate students and a combination of English and American culture to technical experts, government officials, and lecturers. She also created a vocational labor re-integration training program for victims of sex trafficking and volunteered as an English teacher at an orphanage and a Buddhist Monastery.

Thi Bay worked with Habitat for Humanity Vietnam during the 2009 visit to Vietnam of Former US President Jimmy Carter. She lectured at the Vietnamese extension of the Thai-based Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and researched Vietnam’s medical and engineering fields for Doctors without Borders. She edited news for a national newspaper and for news media pilots broadcasted by CNBC Asia. In 2013 she returned to Habitat for Humanity Vietnam as the Resource Development and Communications Manager.

Thi Bay has been a private tutor and an interpreter for the Italian Trade Commission since the late 90s. She has been editing doctoral dissertation since 2008 and in 2011 she also became a corporate Cross-Cultural Trainer. In 2014 Thi Bay returned to New Jersey. She continues to tutor, translate and edit and to occasionally lead National Geographic expeditions.

Thi Bay has a Master in International Affairs (MIA) with a concentration in International Law from Columbia University and a BA in Anthropology from San Francisco State University. Her passions are photography, martial arts, dance, creative writing, and travel.

Vanessa, a master tutor, is a graduate of The College of New Jersey with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education K-12 Vocal and Instrumental. She has experience teaching music in several elementary school districts throughout New Jersey. Vanessa also plays flute and piano and teaches privately around the area as well as plays gigs for musical performances whenever she can. Vanessa believes that every student is capable to perform, move to, and create music in a safe space, and that students should be provided an enriching musical experience in the elementary grade levels that will carry on with them for their lifetime.

Vicente, an expert tutor, was born in Lima, Peru, where he obtained an B.S.E.E. from the National Engineering University Lima-Peru. He later earned an M.S.E.E. and M.B.A from NJIT in Newark, NJ.
He worked for Nextel, Sprint and AT&T for 16 years as senior RAN engineer and capacity plan manager. He has tutored high school students for the past 6 years in math and physics with great results.

Wafa, a master tutor, is a highly skilled and dedicated teacher and tutor who can help both struggling and gifted students reach their potential. Wafa can supplement the instructions students receive in class and guide them toward study practices and aides that can help them excel. With 20 years experience as a teacher and a tutor, she is productive when giving individual students one-on-one as well as group instructions in language arts.
