Sophie, an Expert Tutor, earned her Master of Arts in Teaching in K-6 Elementary Education from Montclair State University in 2024, along with her NJ Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing. Her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, with a minor in Musical Theatre Studies, rounds out a background that is equal parts rigorous and creative. Currently working as a freelance writer, Sophie brings a genuine writing life to her tutoring work with elementary students, covering Creative Writing, Literature, Reading and Language Arts, Vocabulary, and Executive Functioning. She travels directly to families throughout the area, keeping sessions convenient and familiar. Master Educators are our most experienced teachers, with a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience. Expert tutors are talented tutors who are either certified teachers with less than 5 years experience, are experts in their field, or are gifted at teaching certain subject areas.

Our Master tutors are professional experienced teachers with subject matter experience and a minimum of 5 years of teaching/tutoring experience. Our Expert tutors are seasoned tutors with subject matter experience and a minimum of 3 years of teaching/tutoring experience. Each tutor undergoes an extensive internal screening process including a thorough background check, demo lesson and content knowledge quizzes.

Our tutors conduct home visits throughout Northern New Jersey with our office based out of Livingston, New Jersey. When you select Teacher Tutors you can be confident that you are not signing up with an impersonal large chain.
